Once your dog has learned how to walk by your heel, the next command to be taught is "SIT". At your command, your dog has to SIT, and it has to be in that position as long as you want it to be. This requires time and patience.
Once your dog has been taught to sit, it will be taken on walks to the parks and other public areas (exposure training). In public areas, your dog will be taught how to behave in the crowd. After your dog has been socialized, it will be your turn. I will teach you how to handle your dog in crowded places and public places. Your handling skills are jus important, if not more, in owning and enjoying the experience of a well trained dog.
As the picture below illustrates, at your command, your dog has to stay and sit at the place you want him to, and with more practice, this is will become in built for you, as with everything, you just need plenty of practise.
My dog Dook, can be on the sit and stay command, off leash for as long as I want him to. This you have to see to believe, and if you want the same result, other than proper handling, you HAVE GOT TO spend time with your dog after the training process is done, As I tell all of my customers, when you send you dog here, it is not the end to it's learning process, in fact it is just the start. Time is a must in owning a dog.
It's not tough, come on over here, and I will prove that owning a trained dog is just pure joy!
